FAQ

How do I get paid?

Register your tag on this site, play on a Project Flippi setup, enter your tag on the console, and land a qualifying combo (ends in a KO; opponent is not a CPU). Payments are sent in USDC shortly after detection.

Where can I see my combo clip?

Compilations are typically posted the day after and shorts are posted daily on the Project Flippi YouTube Channel.

How can I tell if I am playing on a Project Flippi setup?

As of now, there is only one Project Flippi setup owned and maintained by OtterFodder. See photo below.

What is Project Flippi?

Project Flippi is a framework for automated content creation for the Super Smash Bros. Melee community. It uses Project Slippi, Project Clippi, and custom scripts to automatically record combos, generate metadata, and upload shorts/compilations to YouTube. The goal is to monetize the channel and share revenue with players featured in clips.

What is a web3 wallet?

A Web3 wallet lets you store assets and receive payments. Learn more at Rainbow Learn.

Why is Project Flippi using web3 wallets?

They enable direct, permissionless, programmable payments to players—no traditional banking required.

If the channel isn’t monetized yet, where is the money from?

Funds are provided by Lil Nouns via the Lil Nouns Software Round , where Project Flippi placed 1st. Payments continue until funds run out. Learn more about Lil Nouns at lilnouns.world.

I landed a combo, why didn’t I get paid?

Make sure: (1) you registered your tag here, (2) you’re on a Flippi setup, (3) your tag is entered on the console, (4) the combo meets the minimum criteria and ends in a stock, and (5) your opponent isn’t a CPU. If everything checks out and you didn't recieve payment, tell OtterFodder.

What is the minimum combo criteria?

Work in progress per character. Ask OtterFodder at the event for the day’s settings or email projectflippi@gmail.com with suggestions.

I received USDC—how do I use it?

First, Ask OtterFodder in person. He will likely have an option available for you to use your USDC to purchase products at the venue — e.g., a beer ticket or gift card at Golden Cactus Brewery. Adoption of USDC and crypto in general is increasing, however, many in-person merchants do not accept it directly from your wallet yet. Here is a helpful directory: BitPay Directory.

If you'd like to use it for in-person purchases, Coinbase offers a VISA debit card that you can load with USDC. Metamask also offers a similar card.

How can I support Project Flippi?
